1- are your expectations too high? 2- do you understand the financial commitment? 3- do you have the time? 4- have you researched the breed? 5- do you know the law? 6- do you have a support system? 7- is there a lifestyle change ahead? 8- why are you getting a puppy/dog to begin with? these are some helpful questions to ask yourself before getting a dog/puppy.

Since I'm going to get a new sheltie in a few weeks, I fill it out.

1- Are your expectations too high?
No, not really.

2- Do you understand the financial commitment?
Yes, I already own three shelties, I understand how much money can be involded.

3- Do you have the time?
Yes. Right now, I am out of school, but because I am Cyber School, I have time for my dogs all year round.

4- Have you researched the breed?
Yes. A LOT. I love shelties.

5- Do you know the law?
What law? On lemon puppies? On how much they can bark ? yes, I know all the town laws around here.

6- do you have a support system?
Support system? as in financially?

7- is there a lifestyle change ahead?
in three or four years, yes. However, I've thought it though and decided another dog isn't going to change anything.

8- why are you getting a puppy/dog to begin with?
For show but if that doesn’t work out, just for a pet.

support system- owners need more than just books to turn on. do you have a list of friends and family willing to help out with walks socialization and a sympathetic ear when your puppys gotten you up at 4am for the past week
