need help training a daschund
Hi everyone i am new here and found this forum while searching the web.Now this is not my dog but is the dog of a very good freind of mine. She is having problems training the dog and i wanted to see if i could help.I figured the best place to turn would be the internet. Now for some background on the dog.The dogs name is sally and is 6 months old.She is very playfull and stuborn as well.
The problem is she can not seem to potty train this dog. However i think she just needs an idea of how to train her correctly. So i would like to see if anyone could give me any info on what to do.Or maybe direct me to where i can find more info on training a daschund. Thanks, any and all help is appreciated and i posted some pictures below. ![]() ![]() |

I would start with crate training. Most dogs will not soil their bedding. So at night or while she is away she should put the dog in the crate. She should never leave a dog so young in there for more than a couple of hours though. This will show her that she should go outside and not in her home. For more on crate training and the benefits do a internet search.

Great idea Salem, I'd like to add that it would be also a good idea to tether her to them by a leash when they are home so she can't sneak away and do her potty behind the couch or in another room. It'll be hard for her to do naughty things if they can see her all of the time. Also they will be aware of any change in her behavior that may indicate that she has to go in time to take her outside to do her business. She should be praised lavishly when she does go outside. We always want to set our doggies up for success whenever we train them.
