Impacted Baby Teeth

My pup charlie turns 5 months this week and has already lost some teeth earlier last week. It was no problem just one day noticed that there was a gap in hi teeth. It was really cute however. I've noticed that some of his adult teeth have come in before he's lost his baby teeth. The ofending tooth is in the front upper jaw (not sure the proper term for it). Although it seems to be a little lose it hastn't fallen out? Should I take him to the vet??? Or wait it out for a little bit. I can't do anything today because its Sunday, but does anyone have any advice?

I had the same problem with Harley and he did have to have nine baby teeth removed. I would have your Vet take a look at Charlies

It’s common for small breed dogs to retain some of their deciduous teeth. Both mine had to get some removed by the vets. Boomer got his removed while he was neutered. If your dog hasn’t gotten neutered yet it might be something worth mentioning to the vet when he does.

Both of my dachshunds had to have a few baby teeth removed. I got one done during her spay and it was much easier on her. My younger pup was spayed right at 4 months of age. We didn't notice her impacted teeth until 6 months and they had to be removed seperately. It's much cheaper to have it done during the spay or neuter.

At five months of age with the adult teeth coming in behind already I'd have the baby teeth that are in the way removed. jmo

The vet told me that sometimes the baby canines (the sharp teeth on each side) don't fall out and have to be removed. He said that if by the time Mocha is scheduled for his neutering and those have not fallen out, he will remove them (a routine procedure). I noticed that Mocha's baby canines are still intact and there is another tooth growing behind it....I wonder if those are his adult canines? I don't know, but Mocha is scheduled to be neutered in about 2 weeks....so I guess we'll have it figured it out then.

Jagged Tooth

I've scheduled an appointment with the vet and will go in at the end of the week. I'm not to worried about the tooth b/c although it looks a little bit akward it doesn't seem to be painful when touched slightly. It is a little loose though so I'm hoping by some miracle it'll just fall out....or maybe he'll run into something. I know if that tooth were in my mouth my mother would have just taken hold and ripped it out . But enough about my traumatizing childhood (LOL). Has anyone noticed that when teething no matter how many toys are supplied a puppy will find something more interesting to destroy? See my favorite pair of slippers. haha. Anyways thanx for the advice guys as always.
