lights or no lights?
When we put our dog in the pen at night time we leave the kitchen light on. Should we just turn off all the lights so he knows that its 'bedtime?' or is leaving some light better?

I dont think it matters.....
if your puppy sleeps with teh light on then if you want to leave it on fine..... if your puppy is restless and not sleeping ... try turning it off and see if it makes a difference.... its really personal preference. s |

It probably makes no difference, but I know with Sammi, she'd rather sleep
with the lights off. If the lights are on, she wakes up often to scope out the area... but once the lights are off she's in the bed and knocked out with us. |

I wouldn't waste the electricity. Dogs see quite well at night and really, I'm sure he wouldn't care and would rather you save your money so you can buy him a new toy. LOL.

When my Yorkies slept in their own beds at night in the kitchen & dining area, I had a very small night light on near their wee-wee pad, but now they started sleeping with us about two weeks ago and it's finally working out. I wouldn't keep a big bright light on though, as it could interfere with the quality of sleep they get.
