Doesn't breeders guarantee against diseases? I seem to think the one I bought my dog from did...

I wish I could help all the little dogs who are in desperate need. You should see if your Vet. will accept payments and if not, I'd find one who does.

Oh, thats sad to hear. Yes, ask if your vet will do payments with some down(like $500 down, so much a month)... Good luck and I'll send prayers.

Hi Sheryl, I am so glad to see Darla getting some web coverage, I will be following her thread here and will also post a link back to Darla's thread Global Paw and add Global Paw to our links directory. Her pictures are so beautiful, I am still working on getting them scanned so the world can see just how much this little girl is loved by her family. Friends of Global Paw...Darla's family has been reaching out all over the web and keeping up on forum posts regularly. She has mailed me official documentation of Darla's need for surgery and a stack of photos. I am working on having a friend scan them in as my scanner is down. Here is one photo of her though....

On Handipets Haven we have the addresses, phone numbers and website info for the Doctors involved in Darla's care and there is a paypal donation button set up...Please visit Darla's thead and help out in any way you can.
Click Here : For Darla's Plea for Help

Thank you
Becky

Thank you Handipets... We are always here to help and do a great deal towards educating people about "good" breeders and the horrid ones, like Darla's.

Please check out this link towards one of our latest endeavors to protect dogs worldwide. http://www.globalpaw.com/global-paw/...ying-dogs.html (Lobbying for the dogs...)

Sheryl, I'm assuming you're with Don. Please tell Don to log in and read his PMs. I wrote to him yesterday.

Novel,
I am glad you are here to offer education about breeders. My site does not really cover that subject as we are dedicated to the disabled animals, however when we do get a case like Darla we are sure to not only let the pets family know the harm that comes when pets are bought from breeders who have not had an in depth evaluation...actually we tend to discourage buying from breeders period as we adopt one of the various motto's "please do not breed or buy while others suffer and die" Darla is unfortunately one of those victims of horrid puppy mills. I think her family is now aware and will not be buying any more animals, now if we can just repair the damage from the puppy mill in Darla's case.

If there were no puppy mills and no Back Yard breeders we would have no reason for shelters... So, although I agree partly with your comment "please do not breed or buy while others suffer and die" there are still many good reasons for breeders to continue to produce quality animals. If we continue to tackle this problem from both ends, stopping the bad breeders and picking up the messes they've produced, we'll get to a solution!

We filed a BBB complaint against the breeder and believe it or not they got response from her, she says shes been out of town for weeks but is still mailing us the money paid for Darla in full! I'll believe it when i see it!! I hope shes not scamming us again that money will help us out sooo much towards Darlas surgery. thanks again, sheryl and don

Thank you for filing with the BBB, but please, lodge a complaint with Green Lake County Sheriff's Office so that it is on file. If you need their contact information you can contact me. Also, the vet that you referred to earlier, he is also a legislator in this state... I think a letter to him about the proper care and treatment of animals would help.

We have found out horrible things about the breeder. This is our first pet and we had no idea we shouldnt get a pet online. (we learned the hard way) We had filed a BBB report on her, now she has replied saying she is going to pay us back the money we paid for her, but i have not yet recieved it. Hopefully it will work out, it will be a good start to getting money for her surgery.

We will file a complaint,( I'm scared if we keep doing too much she wont send us any money back and we really need it for Darlas surgery. )But we'll do the right thing so we can help prevent this from happening to others. We will write the letter to the vet and file the complaint with the sheriffs office. thanks again. sheryl and Don

I understand about not wanting to upset her before you see some money back from her. It is completely up to you of course, but in my experience, they never follow through with what they say they will. If they were responsible in the first place they wouldn't do what they are doing.
