LUTHER - my new puppy!
I have been so busy lately...
2 days ago I returned from Alberta with a beautiful baby Weimaraner. I could not be happier with him. I have named him Luther but have yet to think of a good registered name. If all goes well I will be showing Luther in the USA and Canada. I am so thrilled!!! This is the first "show puppy" I have bought since I was a teenager. I am so nervous!!! I hope I picked the right puppy! The breeder was wonderful and gave me a choice of only 2 boys...they were her top 2 pick's. I am so in love with him already. I am still a little bit shocked at how much this breed has influenced my life. I have a few pictures of him...he is very hard to photograph, I swear he never stops moving!!!! He has so many strange habits that I have never seen in a dog and never ceases to make me laugh. Axa is still not 100% happy with him, but she is learning. Please let me know what you think of him as far as a show puppy is concerned, any noticable faults? ![]() ![]() ![]() Axa does not seem amused...Luther on the other hand is having a blast!! ![]() |

He is beautiful Crazypuppy
! Novel is the one to ask about Weim's and as far as looking at those pics I'm not sure you can see flaw's. Have you been practicing stacking him or have tried yet? Maybe you should try stacking him in a few pic's so she can have a better idea Good luck with him! ![]() |

One noticeable fault.....He's too stinkin' adorable!
He's going to be so spoiled. LOL.I don't know if you can tell for sure everything at such a young age. But Novel would be a good one to ask. |

I don't think he is show quality one tiny bit and needs to be sent ASAP to me so I can make him think he's the most beautiful pupster on the planet.
Really, he's just adorable!!!! Congratulations!!!! |

Yup, Calgal's right... He's not going to work out, might as well ship him to me now, I'll take him off your hands!!! LOL!
But seriously, he looks very good. He looks like a well bred dog, and from here on out, its just the mior things... that will take him from just being a Champion, to multiple group wins.... Right?! His head is gorgeous, already nicely masculine, yet refined. His ears are of the proper length, and he has a nice stop. Flews look to be substantial enough, and the muzzle is of a good length also. With a stacked picture I could tell you more about angulation, elbows, length of neck, tail set and chest, but, from what I see here, his chest is deep enough, coming down to his elbow, and his hocks are of a good shape and length in the rear. His tail has been cropped, so you don't have to worry about that fault. His coat is of the right color, and he doesn't have any white spots on his body, that I can see, although a spot on the chest is acceptable. Also, the coat length is within standard. Do I see a dew claw, or is that just a bump where it was? The AKC standard faults dogs that have their dew claws. He is a beautiful boy, no matter what!! I love Weimies! So glad that you can share all the wonderful moments that come from having one! |

Thank you everyone for the kind words, I am so lucky to have such a wonderful little baby boy.
Novel: Thank you so much for the critique!!!!! I really appreciate it, it means alot coming from you (a Weim breeder). I attempted to stack him today but apparently he is smarter then me.... I did however get a friend to stack him. She is not the most talented handler but she did manage to hold him still long enough for me to snap a few photo's. I admit, they are not the best quality and he looks kind of silly in most of them. These pictures do not do him justice....but they do give an idea. I hope these help. ![]() ![]() ![]() |
