She has more personality!! She is a big tease, yet knows her boundaries. Someday I'll get the courage to count all the pictures we've taken of her!! I just love these digital things!!

You know, you mentioned the European ESS background. I think so, too because she has these HUGE feet compared with the field breds that I've seen. I read somewhere that these huge feet were characteristic of the flushing dogs who worked in the bogs & swamps so they wouldn't sink in the "muck". She is an awesome dog...but we went for the yearly check-up Friday, and she has put on 4 lbs since June, so now I have to cut back on her food and watch her diet. She gets alot of exercise, but am going to step that up abit tho' it's hard in the winter.

Here's the pair of wonderful Springers I grew-up with (1981-1995). Kodi is the black & white, and Kyle is the liver & white. Since they were "just pets" I didn't shave their necks and ears like they do for shows. Their mom was a combination of show & field dog lines, hence Kodi's delightful freckles Their dad was from show lines, including CH Salilyn's Aristrocrat who won the Sporting Group at the Westminster dog show in 1967.

OH,OH,OH....Such beauty!! Aren't they just so much fun???
re: pedigrees - my mom's family raised springers (in Iowa) during the 1930's & 1940's. There is writing on the back of one of the show springers picture and I can't make it all out, but the name of one was "Linda of Irvinedale by CH Aristocrat of Avondale bred to Man O'War's Mareus (that's the word I can't make out). Wished this was something I had found out about before they passed on!!

Anyway, maybe Kodi & Kyle were related to Springerlover's dogs!! How much did Kodi weigh?? He looks big!!

I have their sire's pedigree right here in front of me.... 'Risto was bred to CH Venetian Cricket's Cinnamon. Their son CH Salilyn's Ringleader was bred to Marjon's Happy Thing, UD. Their son CH Marjon's Rebel From Arron was bred to Lady Hildebran Germain. Their son Dusty's Rebel Rouser was the sire of our 2 boys

You can see a partial pedigree on their webpage: Kyle & Kodi's Page

It's towards the bottom of the page.... Their lineage was primarily Marjon & Salilyn kennels, but there's also Canarch, Inchidony, Frejax, and Waiterock dogs. When I was a kid, any company who came was subjected to me bringing the Springer book out and pointing out all of the ones our boys were related to*lol*

Springers will always have a very special place in my heart Kodi was oversize, 22" at the shoulders. He weighed 55 pounds. Kyle was the ideal 19", but was also pet-quality. Kyle weighed about the same as Kodi because he was stockier. Here they are at 8 weeks old
