No points on your dog in Juniors, but if you win or place, YOU get points towards Eukanuba and Westminster.
JH I believe you need 4 qualifying scores. Good luck. Have you entered her in Breed? Have you been in the Juniors ring before? In Juniors they'll be looking at how well you handle your dog, not what quality your dog is. |

Yes, SpringerLover is right, you need 4 qualifying scores when entered in Junior Hunter to achieve a Junior Hunter title.
No, you can not put points on your dog towards a championship, when showing in Juniors. You need to enter Belle in Reg. classes if you want her to achieve her Bench Championship. Each show counts towards a certain amount of points. A big show with alot of entries may be worth 5 points (the most possible), a small show with one or two other dogs may only be worth 1 point. If no other dog shows up to compete against, that is no points. You need 15 points to finish her bench championship. Two need to be major point wins. Majors are wins of 3 or more points. Regular classes are listed as such on the premium. They may be puppy classes, open, American Bred, Bred By Exhibitor, Novice, etc. You will enter Belle in whichever class fits you and her best. Since you are not Belle's breeder, she would be in puppy classes usually until she is 18 months old, and then she would go to Open class. If you go to the AKC website, http://www.akc.org/events/conformati...CH_BUTTON.Y=15, you can look at the points schedule for the different regions. That will tell you how many dogs or bitches have to be entered in regular classes to achieve certain points. You only count the number of dogs of the same sex to see how many points are available at a show, usually. So, for example, you enter Belle in 12 - 18 month Puppy Bitch class at a show. When you receive your judging program these numbers are listed after Weimaraner, 7 -8 (3 -4) along with the ring number and ring time. 7 means 7 dogs are entered in regular classes 8 means 8 bitches are entered in regular classes 3 means 3 finished (champion) dogs are entered in Breed of Breed competition 4 means 4 finished (champion) bitches are entered in Best of Breed competition If this show were in Wisconsin there would be 3 points (a major) available in dogs, 2 points available in bitches, not a major. Only one bitch and one dog get points (in that breed) on the day of the show. The dog that goes Winners Dog gets points, and the bitch that goes Winners Bitch gets the points. So, say Belle goes Winners Bitch at this show. She would get 2 points, unless the judge rules her to be the Best of Winners, then you would get the same amount of points as the dog, which in this case is a major, 3 points. I can explain it more, so ask any questions if you have some. |
