Calling All Cocker Owners

Hi im Samantha and im owned by a one year old female Parti American Cocker Spaniel Maggie May. You can see her in my icon . Anyway I own her and then my mom owns a one year old black and tan male Cocker named Tucker. I have absolutely fallen for the breed thats for sure. So much though that I can't imagine not have a Cocker Spaniel in my life.

Anyways I was just wondering who else here owns the breed?

I don't own a purebred Cocker spaniel, but we think my dog Bjorn is a cocker spaniel mix. (Cocker Spaniel/Chihuahua/possible poodle mix.).

I grew up with Cockers...one buff and two black (only one dog at a time though). Great dogs but a myriad of health problems with two of them (seizures). Now that I'm all grown up, it's too much grooming for my taste but we do board a couple cockers and I always love when they come visit!

Welcome aboard!

I own Rottweilers now, but my family dog growing up was a Cocker Spaniel called Toby. He was an awesome dog, sadly he passed away in July 2004 though, he would've been 12 that December. I still miss the lil goober!

I don't have a cocker spaniel, but I used to work at a grooming salon (up until the middle of last year), and we used to get a few cocker spaniels coming in on the odd occasion. They're lovely dogs and very placid, but they do take a bit of effort to groom!

I dont own a Cocker, but i own 2 Springers! I have a book that says Cockers and Springers used to be exactly the same, but over time, people started calling the shorter/smaller ones Cocker Spaniels, and the taller/bigger ones Springer Spaniels. I dont know if this is true or not.

But, anyway, i do love all spaniels! I see Cocker Spaniels a lot when i go to Fairs and stuff, i think they are gorgeous.

Like i said, i have 2 ESS, a black/white male named A.j. and a black/white female named Simetra. They are littermates, but i just adopted Simetra a little over a month ago from the person who bred their mother. They are some of the best dogs ive ever owned and ill probably always have a spaniel at my side from now on.

I had a cocker spanial, solid black, she lived to be 13 years old. I raised her from 5 weeks old. She was my most dependable dog I ever had. I used to groom her myself because I never liked the way the groomers did it, I hated the skirt they would leave, it was like a scottie skirt, so I started doing it myself and took it down under and blended it into the underbelly, it looked great, she kept her "show style" cut for several years until we took a trip to visit relatives in arizona and she got ticks, really bad, I was so grossed out, they made me gag, she had to get shaved and tick bathed and shaved again and again and again. The ticks were so bad it took us the full 10 days of treatment everyday to get rid of them. The vet did blood work on her and she was fine from that ordeal but her coat was never the same after that and so I kept her mostly short on the legs but enough to show her pretty cocker composition. She wasn't a show dog, didn't even have papers on her, but she was "my" showdog. (RIP Cinder)
