POST POST POST POST POST POST
Ha Ha!! I think we all know that I am a resident Weim lover here on GP!! My love out to all the other Weimie people! And litlone.. I just love that pic of you and those precious kids. Let's see... A story... Hmm... well, here's a story that gets repeated almost nightly around here. 6 tired puppies come in from playing outside and they all lay around on the floor around me here in the computer room. Each day the story changes just a little. This morning breakfast contained lots of beans and macaroni (a little fat before we go on the road), and it's the same in dogs as it is in humans, so it's quite the musical repertoire this evening. Alley is snoring, like usual... Spirit and Topper have been very flirty the last two days... who knows why... spring is in the air, I guess, and so they are laying head to head with legs wrapped around each other on the couch, and Laney is on the other end with her head on the arm. Jazz, Whisper and Alley are all curled up on the floor in front of the couch... I get the computer chair all to myself, kind of... a roving feline who is usually in my lap has decided to sleep on my sewing on the table to the side of my desk. I just finished up watching Mystery on PBS and although I'd like to get a drink, they'll all wake up the second I stand up, so I'm content just sitting here watching TV and watching them sleep. I've never had children, but I assume mothers watch their own children sleep in a similar relaxing way. To know they are all safe and healthy makes my heart leap and my eyes tear up. I'm the happy mother of 6 wonderful Weims (we allow Alley to think so) and soon to be a mom for a 7th while he stays with us for the summer. I posted pics of Jesse James almost two years ago... when he was 8 weeks old... and soon you'll get to see him at 20 months!! Where does the time go??? |

I don't currently have a weimaraner but they will always be special to me as I had one growing up. He was an awesome family dog, a great companion to myself and brother and sister. He had tons of energy, loved to run, but I also remember him to be somewhat of a couch and heater hog
Anyway he was one cool dog and I love seeing the weimie pics and stories on this forum ![]() |

Hmmmmm where to start!.....
I'm a pround mama of 3 weimies, Angel, Tweeder and Zoe. It all started 9 yrs ago in Kalamazoo, MI. My husband and I were there to help out showing the inlaws collies and we decided to walk the rings one day and take a gander. And there they were Weims and I was love struck. I needed to find out everything about them. It practically took me all weekend to try to pronouce the breed correctly LOL! A year later we were looking for a house and came across a ad in the paper, which struck me as odd, and then came along Angel. I couldn't resist her. She wasn't a show weim but every weim, or dog, needs a home. Angel was in for her 1st year check up and the receptionist asks "you don't know of anyone who would want a weim do you? My friend's parents just had a litter of puppies and they have a few left." One boy and one girl were left and by the time we got to Darian, WI it was just the boy who was soon to be named Tweeder. He fell asleep in my arms while Angel checked him out and eventually would run from him.... Angel to this day will always have the upper hand on him but they are inseperable. Last November I convinced the hubby to check out a rescue dog named Winston. Unfortunately he didn't fit in with Angel and Tweeder but that didn't stop Zoe from choosing them. It was the first time hubby ever saw a blue and I think he was in love. She's a handfull but we love her equally the same. I have to agree with Novel though there's nothing better than after a nice day running around outside and a house full of sleepy dreamy pups! |

Lauren, Belle looks like a big girl! How tall is she and what does she weigh? We decided on a girl this time around becuase it was a compromise. Our Winston was big (for me anyway) and I wanted a smaller dog, my hubby still wanted a Weim so our compromise was a female since we would have a better chance that she would be "smaller".

Welcome to GP!
We personally don't own any Weims, but we are still big Weim lovers! We LOVE Novel's kids, and can't wait to meet Wehkah's 3!! The hubby and I show our Cardigan Welsh Corgis (well, he shows and I'm the groomer and coach on the sidelines), and he shows other breeds for other people. The show bug has definitely bit! LOL Can't wait to see more pics of your new baby! That is a great picture of you and the puppies! Enjoy! Sherilyn |

The puppies were evaluated last week and it looks like we are getting pick of the litter! That means the pressure is on to compete her. Since she is a blue, she can't compete in conformation in the US. Looks like we are going to try for the international show in September. Other than that, our first goal is Obedience trials.
Stacked picutures of Roxie are coming soon... as soon as the breeder sends them. I'll post ASAP. |

Actually blues are not allowed to be shown anywhere. They were never shown in Germany, and although the blue that is responsible for all blues today did originate in Germany, it was very surprising that Cäsar von Gaiberg or “Tell” was not culled at birth as it was against breed standard, and still is today in Germany.
The US was the only country to ever recognize blues, and even that has gone somewhat by the way side. Here is a great article about the history of the blue Weim in the US. http://www.blueweimaraner.com/history.html |

![]() We have learned that "Little Red Girl" will become our Roxie. We only have 17 more days until Roxie comes home. Since I last wrote, all of the puppies have been evaluated and have been through temperament tests. According to the evaluator (who is also a professional handler), Roxie is absolutely gorgeous and is her pick of the litter. In fact, had she not been blue in color, she would have wanted to take her for herself! Remember, blue Weimaraner's can't be shown in the confirmation ring but they can compete if field and obedience trials, which is what we will be going for. In addition, we will be working to compete in an international conformation show in September. The blue isn't a disqualification internationally. So we'll see how it goes. Last weekend, all the puppies went through temperament testing and Roxie scored mostly 3's. Mostly 3's This pup is outgoing and friendly and will adjust well in situations in which she receives regular training and exercise. She has a flexible temperament that adapts well to different types of environment, provided she is handled correctly. May be too much dog for a family with small children or an elderly couple who are sedentary. We are very excited about this news. This means that more than likely, Roxie will do well in training and competitions. Well, I think that's all for now. I'll be sure to send an update if we get to see her this weekend. Otherwise, my next posting will probably be after we return from vacation and Roxie comes home. |

She is absolutely adorable Litlone, and I agree, very nice conformationally.
I am always so amazed at how fast they grow.... I love a mostly 3 puppy... they are just so darn adaptable. My Whisper was a mostly 3, and she is a middle road kind of dog, one that just about everyone enjoys being around. Good for you and I can't wait to hear about that first training day, first competition and first title!! |
