Many thanks !!
' The German Weimaraner Club approved the longhair coat in 1935 and all other countries except the U.S. have followed suite. ' - no wonder why I found this in AKC website - ' A distinctly long coat is a disqualification. A distinctly blue or black coat is a disqualification.' Well, I don't care what the AKC say, I think they are stunning. And if ever my situation allow me to have another dog, this is it ! my Long haired blue Weimaraner

I've never seen a long haired Weimaraner. But, my husbands cousin raises slick haired Weimaraner. They are a beautiful breed..

Here is a good website about blue weimaraners. Go to the blue soap box on this sight and it tells all about how the blues got started. Very beautiful dogs! I have always had German Shorthairs but the weims look so similar in body type...I'm in love!

I'm in love too But to have a long hair blue weim is only a dream to me. Because right now I can not afford it, and working 9-5 leave me no time for a 'third' dog. Even one day I have time and money, how to persuade my husband ? cause he is not a big fan of weimaraners

As far as I know Long-haired Weimaraners are rare.

They look really different to the "standard" Weims from that pic. I know you can get Wirehaired Hungarian Vizslas and the breeds are pretty similar so it would make sense.

I saw a pic of one in the book that has numerous dog breeds in it (forget the name and it's upstairs LOL but I think it called "The complete book of DOGS") anyway they are VERY rare in north america and hard to find around the world (somewhat) but still a great dog.

Cheers!

Longhaired Weims are not "rare". They are bred with some regularity in countries that accept them, i.e., not the USA.
The longhaired gene in their makeup is recessive, and in the US some are born each year. They are usually sold overseas so they can be shown there.
