Topper's Ad in the Weim Mag

[Novel]

Just wanted to share what looks like will be my final edit to his New Champion Ad. I haven't sent it off yet, I have another week before the Dec ad deadline. What do you all think? Anything you would change?

This is my first one and I'm kind of just following the pack, but would love any criticism!!!

Very nice ad! One question though, I understand you saying "novice" the first time around but the second? You've finished your boy and have learned along the way.....why not " always handled and loved by his owner" instead? Just a thought.

I hate to admit it, but I'm wavering and thinking of coming down to IA the 15th and 16th. I know there's that get together planned, but I'd really like to get his CD. It hasn't closed yet...

LOL!! I actually debated those exact words, and kept with the novice because it's what I'd put down first. I'd like to put loved in there because I so rarely see it in anyone's ads. He is really my team member and a very loved member of this family. I think I will change it. Thank you Crossfire!

I've always like using "Owned, handled and love by ..... " I'm surprised that's so rare in Weim ads! I think it says alot about the owner handler.

Thanks Sayuri, and Crossfire, I'm with you. Unfortunately I think too often many of the top show dogs become mere possessions and no one ever gets the joy of truly getting to know the dog and have a companion, and the dog never gets to romp and run and be a dog! Sigh....

i agree, i would say "owned, loved and handled by" - and maybe if you want to stress that this is your first time, you can add, we are please by the success our first showdog has (or something like that).

also - has he actively competed and earned legs for his CD and JH? if not i would say something about him actively preparing to get them - saying he is well on his way implies he already has legs. if he does, sorry i missed them and congrats

also - at the bottom - do you want to add novel's WEIMERANERS?

I haven't sent the ad off yet, and we are gone the next two weekends for the JH, maybe we'll even title, and I can take that out completely. He did compete last weekend for his first leg of CD, and had an NQ at the long down. He got up on my return... but, we need to get back in the ring, because he's made great improvements since then, but we're at HT for the next two weeks, jeepers!

But, yes, I think you're right, I'll rewrite a little. My plan is to send the ad off before Oct 15th to make the Dec issue, but I'm not sure his hip results will be back by then. I won't send off the ad until I have those results back, so the OFA will be changed too in the final!
