Oooo...so exciting!
*clears her throat and then speaks with as much authority as she can muster* You are hereby ordered to take hundreds of pictures of your new puppy, when she arrives, and post them for your fellow Global Paw members to see. If you do not, you will be punished with a pain worse than death....errr....which I have yet to think up, but when I do I'm sure it'll be really nasty. ROFL Puppy, puppy, puppy, puppy, puppy!!!! Gosh darnit, I'm so **** jealous of all you multi dog people. Cass. |

Oh my goodness, what a gorgeous name! Novella is just too beautiful to describe (and I haven't even seen the thing yet
). I love those double "L" names. You know, Novella reminds me of nouvelle, which means "new"...which sounds like an awesome name for a future dog....*sighs* Can you tell I'm getting serious puppy fever? |

What a wonderful and exciting time for you now and to come. I love the name Novella. I thought when I named my last Yorkie Azrael, people would wonder "why"
but it's easy to say. |

Oh, exciting! Me is getting puppy feaver too....*reminds herself that she'll get a puppy in about 6 months* Oh, and do you know how tempting it would be to go to the shelter, foster a Pittie mix and her pups until they are old enough, and then keep one of the pups! Or even just to go and adopt that poor little Dobe pup with the growth on his head? Or that Greyhound mix that reminds me of Rose?*groans* Dang Dad....lol

lol... poor Ritz. I know what you're going through. I have to be so very careful, because I would take them all in if I could, and this pup has been a very hard decision. I hate waiting, and it seems like I've been waiting forever. I wouldn't even let myself think about it, and now that I've committed the money it's even worse. The breeder called me tonight to say that she thought she'd gone into labor. Sigh... I don't know what I'll ever do if I decide to have my own litter, this is nerve wracking enough. I've done my research, and I just really want this puppy to be healthy and do well. Everything is really just gravy, if we can have a nice addition to our home.

Well... BIG DISAPPOINTMENT!!!
There were only three puppies in the litter born Friday morning. 2 boys and 1 girl. I had 2nd pick on a female. The breeder is keeping the only girl. So, I always kept this possiblility in the back of my head, but it's still disappointing... Onward and upward. Sigh! |

Sigh... It was a very bittersweet thing. I had been looking forward to this pup for many reasons. The one that makes a tear come to my eye yet, is that, in March, I had gone to visit my mother. I had planned for a show in her area and so we got to visit. At that time I was showing a dog for another woman, and they were at the same time, so I asked my mom to take the 2nd dog in the ring. This was the first time she had shown in over 15 years. The huge grin as she left the ring told me that she had been bitten by that dog bug again! After being without even a dog in her home for almost 5 years, we began to search for a Weim for her. We had both settled on this litter. She'll be welcoming 8 week old "Jesse" home on her 52nd birthday! I am still overjoyed for her, but sigh when I think we were going to show littermates together when we could. Sigh....
Onward and upward, right!! |
