Brittanies

Hi
I am in England and just wondered if anyone else, on this board, has a French Brittany.
Ghillie is orange and white roan, is 4 coming 5, and she is a Show Champion, working gundog and my best friend [jointly with my husband] She has a wicked sense of humor and is always thinking up daft things to do.When we took her to France this summer she saw the sea, dived in and swam up and down just out of reach pretending not to hear her name, she had a wonderful time on the beach and retrieved some weird and peculier things, like starfish, crabs and the odd dead fish.
I have posted a picture of her looking superior in the garden.
Jan

I have never had a French Brittany but a dear friend of mine shared her home with 4 of these wonderful characters. Sadly within the past year she lost 3 of them - each were over 13 yo. Chubby is going strong at 6 yo and he keeps up with the 2 Chessies & the 1 GSD. He, however, does not like to go swimming unless you are right next to him.

I do agree that this breed definitely has a sense of humor and can keep you laughing.

Before when I was trying to decide which breed I'd like the Brittany was on my list! They are very pretty, and great dogs.

I have chosen not to get one, but during the summer I walk a Brittany named Molly every day at 10 am for an elderly man. I also sometimes bathe and groom her for him. She's a great dog, and altough I get paid very minimal(only $5 every two-one weeks), she makes it worth it.

Our Brittany is 11 yo now. He has grown up with my kids and has been absolutely the best dog!! When we got him we knew nothing about the breed - had never even heard of it. Now we are certifies Brittany lovers!
