toypoodlelvr, so, if someone registers and never posts at all, how do you know they didn't register to use the trivia area, or the picture area? Granted, some will register and never do a thing...but there is no benefit from keeping them on, or taking them off...

I don't think this is really worth debating...and we're all getting a little too passionate about an issue that really has no weight.

True no point in talking about it if you aren't interested in doing anything about it

julie, there is nothing to be done...there is not benefit to deleting members, even if they registered and never came back.

True, it really doesn't help or hinder the forums in anyway to delete members.

My last remark was a JOKE ! Hence the at the end ! But there is a benefit - when people join they see lots of members not posting and think it's ok to do the same - if they see only active posters they tend to follow and post lots too. Also people sometimes join a forum and loose the addy by e-mailing them it might just remind them where you are and they might come back and participate.

Julie, that is why we have the total/active member lists at the bottom. there is one number which represents the total amount of registrations, then another that lists members who have visited in the past year. granted, because we are 6 months old, all but one member are listed as active, but that will change as the site gets older.

its the best of two worlds.

This is somewhat stupid, it is QW choice... he said he does not want to delete them. It depends on the admin of the site... Just my option

I’ll post somewhere for three months and forget about them for three months or so and then remember, go back, post for another three months and so on. I would really be ticked if they deleted me.

Sometimes an answer has already been given, why clutter up a thread with a string of "agreements". Unless someone has differing advice, they may just elect to read an go on. Just because someone does not post on a regular basis does not mean they are not reading, enjoying, learning or at least visiting on a routine basis.
