the Members

I have looked at the members list and some have been members a long time! and have postd nothing or very few posts.. Why don't you email them and tell them that if they don't make a post or reply to sumtin in like a week they won't be members any more.

or if they HAVN'T BEEN ACTIVE FOR AN amount of time tell them they will be booted off unless they go on more???

hey this is my 300th post!!!!

We do, we send out emails once every 2 months...and whenever I install something new, i send out emails. most of the members come on to ask one question, and then leave.

even if I wasnt an active member and had only asked one quick question then disapeared. then I came back and I was deleted id be very upset, and deff not want to come back....

so on the off chance they do come back ite best we leave them.

Plus how are we supposed to get to 100,000 members if we delete them all? Quincy's dream would be squashed.

Not much point having 100,000 members if only a few post

My friends and I run a general board every few months we send non posting members an e-mail just saying we are tidying the member list and any non posters will be deleted in 10 days unless they ask not to be . And even after deletion they are welcome to reregister. The nature of forums seems to be for every 10 people who join you will only get a few lasting members. IMO.

I'm sorry, we will never delete any members. I agree, I think it is rude, I don't think it is needed.

Rude ? It's forum life and anyone who uses forums will be used to it happening, now what is rude is the way some people debate

the only reason I asked the question was because to me it just seems like their hogging up space( I knnow that was rude) this is just my opinion you don't have to respond if you don't want to.

Some ppl haven't posted 1 post! in like 6 mounths! do you think they will post? why don't you email them and ask!?

Seems like it would be a wee bit time consuming to email folks because they haven't posted within a certain time. I don't see how it's much of a big deal. It's not harming anything.

If I was deleted simply because I hadn't posted in awhile, or was sent emails informing me i would be deleted simply because I hadn't been posting in a while, I'd be miffed. And I'd remember that, and I'd probably not be very inclined to recommend that site to others.

I suppose it depends how active a site is - the forum I help run has so many members actively posting the few we loose when we have a trim don't really make much difference and some come back after an e-mail simply because they have lost the addy to the site and needed reminding where we are. We have a system where we can mass e-mail so one e-mail once written can be sent to all none posters at a simple click of a button.
