Pet Product Review forum

I think it would be very informational to offer a product review forum for items used with our pets. There are so many different types of toys, leashes, treats, shampoos, crates, beds, you name it- how do we know what's worth the money?

If all the dog owners on this forum were to share their experiences with different products, we'd know which ones are good and which are bad. I'd never buy a dog frisbee one morning and pick up shards of frisbee ten minutes later. It'd be great!

We could use a standard layout, such as:

Product Name:
Manufactured by:
Price:
Bought it at:
Initial thoughts on product:
My experience:
Conclusion:
Number of stars awarded:

Thoughts, anyone?

That sounds like an excellent idea and would be a great resource to have around! It would also be good if there was a question such as "Available in other countries?" since not all of us are from the US.

That could be an interesting addition - I know I'd be keen to read about products and how people rate them.

Thank you Ewarp for your suggestion, this is something that we'll certainly consider for the future and although I haven't had the chance to look into all the legalities of it....it sounds like a neat idea.

I like the idea but I suppose you would only be able to put in positive feedback on products or the companies might sue gp
Also I have often wondered about the same name products in different countries. ( do they have same ingredients or just same name)

Your idea certainly has me interested. If I buy a toy, I pretty much go with soft squeaky toys, and with balls and rope toys with no 'fringe' for flyball practice. I don't look at brand names, and I have only bought three toys from the store. We've actually had the best times with plastic drink bottles (clear plastic, as colored plastic can be chewed into little pieces). My friends' German Shepherd, Ute', loves to play with plastic milk cartons (supervised, of course). Saves a lot of room in the recycling bins. Also, my dog just loves sticks. He will come for a stick better than for a treat. Perhaps what humans feel is good for dogs is not what dogs feel is good, eh? Just for reference, my dog is a puppy; my friends' dog is an adult.

Now, if you will just tell me what to feed to get rid of my pup's "poots". At least, my husband blames the aroma on the dog.......
