Have any of you?

Have any of you ever owned a Wheaten terrier or Wheaten terrier mix???

If so,was it wild & everywhere at once?

Never owned one. Fostered one for two days, though, his name was Bobo.. WILD puppy, but too big to be everywhere at once. Very short attention span.

That's the problem I'm having. They have really short attention spans...LOL

Could it be the Samoyed in them that's making them wild & everywhere at once???

Samoyeds as puppys are very active..but they tend to grow out of it and into very well behaved adults. Everywhere at once no, but he does have his wild times.

You also said once that your puppies were left alone with the mother for a while, to their own devices- this probably has more to do with their bahavior then their breeds.

this is what i was thinking also. it will probably take them longer to learn most things since they didnt have human contact in the very begining.. just be patient and loving...

lack of socilization or rules and human contact would cause this a lot more then either of their breeds. And just the fact they are puppies will add to this.
They are used to having free reign and no rules, so thats what they know. they probably can be trained out of it, though cuz they are starting from scratch it may take a while. Good luck.

My little Chico is a Wheaten-Poodle mix. He's more Wheaten than Poodle and he's as cute as a Button. He loves to eat.

I train my physiotherapist's Wheaten Terrier puppy named Abbey and she's a big sweetie and very well-mannered until she gets a burst of energy and does her Derby Runs all over the yard LOL She very willing to please and learns fast BUT does get distracted easily as she is a puppy but age is helping to conquer this as she learns that the world isn't as interesting as me or mum. Socialization also plays a big role in her getting less distracted as she gets the "been there done that" attitude.

This is lil Abbey

LOL! Terriers don't stop finding the world uninteresting until they are just too old to chase after it anymore...and that's pretty old. I love that about them.
