People think minty isn't a full Jack Russell :(

I am getting fed up with people we meet in the street saying that Minty isn't a full Jack. Ok he's 6 months and is pretty big. I tell them he's a long legged Jack but they still think he's mixed. What do you think?

I've never had a JRT but after seeing many over the years I have definitely seen ones who are taller and some shorter & both sizes were purebred. He looks full to me.

I agree, Minty looks like a full Jack Russell to me. I have a JRT x Maltese but he got his long legs from the JR side (he doesn't look anything like a Maltese).

Looks pure Jack Russell to me too. I wouldn't worry about what people say. After all, there are people out there who tell poodlesmom her poodles aren't pure poodles and BritishBandit, that her Rottweilers are pitbulls or boxers. LOL Sadly, there aren't a lot of people who know their dog breeds (or anything about dogs for that matter).

Cass.

Thanks guys. It just gets so annoying when strangers comment on stuff they have no idea about. In future i'll tell them he's crossed with a rottweiler and let him loose LOL.

Minty looks purebred to me. Looks like English stock...it's the Irish that have the short legs.
I have a JRT-cross with insanly long legs (Standard poodle--I figure she was sleeping?). Minty looks nice and proportionate.

As far as Giant Schnauzer being a cross, you shoulda been there when I was at PetSmart this weekend with my girls.

My KBT was crying since she wanted to run off and play with the puppies that'd just gotten out of class (naturally, we kept her on her leash in a heel or sit/stay). The trainer came over to us waiting at the register and asked if we were interested in joining her class, and only seemed concerned with the kerry half of my dogpack. I said no, I train my own dogs. I just bring them to PetSmart as part of our socialization. She agreed that was good and asked how old she was. I said 3 years. The trainer was shocked and said she'd never seen one so small...or all grey..or that kept a soft puppy coat. I was confused.
She thought we had an Airdale.
I guess it would be weird to find a 40 lb grey Airdale without a wirecoat.

That is weird, you'd think a dog trainer would know their breeds!

He looks PB to me. He looks exactly like our regular client (Wally)
at our boarding kennel.
My BF has the same problem with Klyde.
Some say he is wolf, because of his sable coloring.

and some think he a Pure Bred Shepherd, because of his coloring also.
