Manchesters Anyone?

Hi

I'm brand new to the forum and was wondering if anyone else has a Manchester Terrier. I've had my 11 month old Standard Manchester Terrir Zippy for the past 2 months. I'm enjoying him so much. He is one of the smartest and "snuggliest" dogs I've ever had--but he is a bit leary of strangers---I'm used to dogs who want to play with every person they meet and lick them to death LOL! so this is bit new for me. Here's few pics of Zippy:

I have never owned, or even met a manchester, but they're certainly a beautiful breed! Thank you for the pictures... we'd love to see more!

Zippy likes water, but I don't think he realized what he was getting into when he jumped in and had to swim--he deoesn't like confinement either, but is snuggly--but only with me. What is your Manny crossed with? Does he bark at strangers alot?

I've been drooling over the toy manchester terriers for a few months. They say that their coats are easily cared for and don't shed much. True?

Hmm giantlover--I think she could have some large standard Manchester--the body type looks a little like zippy --I see a lot of some shephard type dog too.....

Beryl, I have only had Zippy 2 months but have found his coat very easy to care for and very very minimal shed--some times if I have a very light top on I will see a few super tiny black hairs that brush right off . They are neat little dogs--I've never had a small dog before--Zippy is just a bit bigger than a toy at a little over 15lbs--but he is a lot of fun!
