white beard NOT white!

How do I keep my schnauzers beard white? I have bathe her beard with baking soda, whiting shampoo. Still it is looking like nasty burnt brown. What is causing it this? Is it her food....being outside.....ohhhh she will dig if I don't go out with her and watch.

She eats out of a stainless steal food bowl. I just hate this look!

Thanks for posting the link, it looks good.

I'm sure others with bearded breeds will appreciate it. I had an Old English Sheepdog so I hear ya about the dirty beard (although hers wasn't as extreme as a Schnauzer's).

Oh my...how lovely it was to get a face full of wet dirty beard in the morning.

I have 2 Westies, one of whom always has stains around her mouth. Although this syndrome is commonly known as "dog food stains", I believe it is caused by saliva which when exposed to air turns brown and dyes the fur.

I can't offer any advice. It is all I can do to keep 2 fluffy white dogs clean while living in Manhattan--a fairly dusty place. I clip the worst of the stains off and live with it.
