Wet Rat Terrier

I was wondering for those who have rat terriers, do they like to get wet? I have 2 and they dont' seem to like getting wet. Esp. Kasia (the baby of the family). When we take a walk and the sprinklers are on in the neighborhood she will get as far away as she can from the sprinkles. She likes to exaggerate so she tries to go across the street but since her leash isn't long enough she ends up in the middle of the street.

My mixes don't, but at the dog park there are several, and two of them always jump into the wading pools on their own and splash around.

Just like with labs, most people think they ALL love water...but it is based on the dogs personality..I have met a lot of labs that hate water.

My Rat Terrier mix doesn't like to get rained on or bathed or kiddie pools, but he doesn't mind swimming. He doesn't go out of his way to swim but if I throw a toy in the water he's after it in a second.
However he has a really deep chest and muscled front end and he tends to tip forward in the water, so he has to wear a life jacket when he swims. If he's not wearing one he overcompensates by lifting his front legs way out of the water when he swims and ends up splashing like crazy and he does not like that tipping forward feeling I think because he gets a little frantic...

My rattie girl doesn't like to get wet at all. If the grass is wet; she tip toes around. Looks like she's walking on egg shells lol!
