Welcome to GP!
Are you interested in adopting? I did a search on Petfinder, and this is what I came up with: Pooh, a 5-year-old male Yorkie X, is in Thompsons Station, TN (about 1 hour, 40 minutes from you): http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/...?petid=5667645 Jake, a senior male Yorkie, is in Anniston, AL (about 2 1/2 hours from you): http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/...?petid=3938345 Kibbles is an adult male Yorkie/Poodle X in Carrollton, CA (about 3 hours from you). If you're interesting in this little guy, please phone quickly, as his Petfinder page said that he is in danger of euthanization: http://search.petfinder.com/petnote/...?petid=5700278 This is all I could find right now within 3 hours of you (there are more on Petfinder, if you're interested). I'll keep looking around, I'm sure that there are tons more! |

I got my two Yorkies girls from a lady in Murfreesboro, TN. who shows these dogs and has a spotless record. I believe she has a litter soon to arrive if they haven't already, plus she may have a retired one. If your interested e-mail me and I'll give you her name and number & e-mail.

I found another one!
I'm not very good with breed identification, but Daisy looks like a Yorkie to me! There isn't any information about her on the site, only her picture, but she's at Forsyth County Human Society: http://www.forsythpets.com/adptdogs.htm. It's a bit far from you, about 4 hours, but some shelters (I don't know about this one) will meet the adopters halfway. |

THank you guys so much.
I have definitately checked the rescues. We have several small dog rescues here in N. AL and one just down the street from me. They wanted $400 for a Yorkie that I would have to spend more money on vet bills. I am willing to pay for the care of the dog, but that initial fee is killing me. I would rather not buy a pup from a breeder they are too expensive. I have contacted a breeder not far from here. She said she had a female about a year old that wasn't what she thought she was getting or something and she said she would sell her to me. She hasn't emailed me back with a price, but the MACEY (the girl yorkie's name) has a problem with her eyes. My yorkie had a problem with his eyes and my vet took care of him. I know I could help this little girl if the ladie doesn't charge me out the wazzooo for a dog she can't use. We'll see thanks all. I have been going to pet finder as well. Thanks. |

Well I have checked them all out they are all adorable. I have left messages with questions and filled out applications if the site offered one. I haven't heard from anyone, but will see. I would prefer a female, b/c I am outnumbered in my house, but not dead set on it.
Thanks for all you guys help. |

I'm sure Daisy is a Silky, but keep checking all the rescues and shelters. They are not easy to find. Check with this rescue; http://www.uyr.us/lookingforloveshtml There are some foster moms that live in TN. that are with this group. You may want to fill out an application just in case.

Found one!!!!!
Ok,
I contacted this reputable breeder outside of town and she had one! She was just going to get rid of her b/c she can't have babies. She is a little on the small side, but not consider a teacup. Which that is cruel to me to breed a breed that small and cause all kinds of health issues, but that is another rant. She is about 5 pounds. That is a little under the standard healthy size of a Yorkie. She might be a little more than that now she is a year old, house broken, and she has a problem with eyes matting. She can't have puppies, but that is probably b/c of her size. Either way she has been checked out by a vet. and I will have her checked out again. The Lady paid 500 for her in TN somewhere from a breeder she gets some good dogs from. This one I guess just didn't work out for her. I emailed her and asked her to give me a price for Macey and she emailed me back to day and said, "I 'll just give her to you" I was a little supicious about that. I will ask for her vet records and if she can give some kind of guarantee I will take that too. If there is something wrong with her then I will just give her love and care until she leaves us. I really feel the need to rescue these poor designer dogs that are brought into this world and for whatever reason they are not wanted b/c they don't fit the mold. I am sickened by it. Oh well. Y'all wish me luck I hope it works out. ![]() |

Congratulations!
She doesn't sound like a very reputable breeder to me, and I'm very concerned that she's just giving this dog away. Even though she can't have puppies, she doesn't seem to care about how she fits the Yorkie standard. However, it's great that you're helping this little girl out, who knows where she'd end up in those hands! You're a great person for wanting to help her, regardless of whether she has health problems or not. All fingers and paws are crossed here! |

Yeah I was a little shocked she was just giving her away. I am glad though, b/c it was what I was looking for regardless of condition.
You can view Macey @ http://www.nanspuppypalace.com/yorkiegirls.html She is a cute little thing. |

Awww, what a doll!
I feel bad for all of those other dogs, they're just a bunch of unqualified mutts. I love mutts, but let's face it, there's enough dogs in this world - purebred or mutts. Anyways, thank you for getting Macey out of there! She's SUCH a cutie pie! |
