more Kiwi stuff!

Hey Everyone
well I talked to Kiwi's Breeder today and as I said she has offered to replace him for anywhere up till he is 6 years old. Even if he has to go on heavy meds (the vet told me that if they are put on meds that they will go downhill pretty quick and sometimes not last the year but over all he said it is 50/50 I am worrying and I don't even have him yet.

On a happier note we named him kiwi (duh) and we had to pick a formal name for him.... his breeder prefix is Cav View then what we chose ( if there are any new zealanders here it's not meant to offend)
a kiwi being an aussie nick name for someone from there.... (NZ)
We decided to call him Cav view cheers bro kiwi Well I thought it was cute lol!

Sorry if the post is a bit chunky Just happy and nervous all at once

Am I missing something here? Is the puppy that your paying for have a health issue? I would not buy a puppy unless it's in excellent health, and comes with the health certificate.

The pup has a heart murmur, Calgal.

Nulla_Nulla..I think his name is adorable and New Zealanders call themselves Kiwi's as well. It's not just an Aussie nick name. Good luck with him, I hope things turn out ok. And I hope that bit about medication isn't true because my boys just started on heart medication for his murmur.

Cass.

I didn't mean to upset anyone... about the meds that is what my vet said today I hope it is not true in my case .... or at all.....

Yes Kiwi has a murmur and I have worked all the final details with his breeder just because they are not healthy doesnt mean they don't deserve a home
I know that most people would not take the pup if it was un healthy but we have a replacement agreement and I fell in love with him! I just have a big heart...

Cass .. yeah everyone here loves his name!

do you have to pay for this puppy or is the breeder giving him to you because she wants him to have a good home?

That was my next question too. I hope this puppy is free because your going to be putting a LOT of money in it. I do hope this is something Kiwi will outgrow. Best of luck and be sure we get to see pictures of this little angel.

Or is she offering to replace him up to 6 years of age because he's got the murmer and you're paying for him? Either or, yeah that's alot to handle, but good for you to take him in

It's amazing just how much we worry about them Can't wait to see pictures of Kiwi!

She's replacing him upto age 6. I'm not worrying much now much my earlier cocker had a murmur and she lived till she was 13 no meds or anything so did my fiancee's parents dog (cav aswell).... I'm totally taking him on my own judgment (can't spell) And yes I know it might be alot of time and or money but I am prepared!!!

It is cool how much we do worry though isnt' it? Shows we Care!

Regardless of how much I am paying or if I am paying at all that was a decision between the breeder and I and I stand by that! please don't take that as an insult or anything!

Heather

Thank you for everyones replies and I can't wait to have some pics to post!!

Thanx a lot harley's mom ... it makes me sad to think that some animals with health probs don't get a fair chance in life. Long before I even found Kiwi I was researching and knew the risks.

Harley is gorgeous by the way!!! Pics lol you cant wait to see them I cant wait to take them cause that will mean that he is here with me
