I have never used the crate in the car with my dog, but I guess it is just preference. It porobly is safer...you might want to ask the breeder if she/he feels the dog will be fine in the car without a crate.

Yeah it might be safer I agree but I was thinking he might feel isolated I would like to be able to hold him but I want to be safe too!

Yeah,
That is how I was, I held my puppy all the way home(she curled up on my neck)! If that is what you want to do, I don't see a problem with it!

You will need to crate him because it's against the law in Australia to have an unrestrained animal in the car (that includes humans too...LOL ).

Cass.

My guys were always crated in the car (Delsi still is) till I got their car seats. It isn't safe to let them be loose inside the car. If you hit someone or someone hit you, the dog would go thru the windshield.
