Smile Hello all! Im new to the site, just wanted to say hey to everyone
Hello all! Does anyone have a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel? I'm getting one in January and am trying to do all my homework now! I'd love to hear from people that have them as pets, I've seen tons of pictures and read about them alot but actually have never seen one in person (erm...dog...well...you know!) anyway, just wondering if anyone has any and if you could tell me about them as pets!

Welcome. I don't have a CKCS, but I believe someone on this forum (Pinscher Mum? I think?) has one. They're cool little dogs.

I know someone who posts on DF has a CKCS. She shows and plans to breed them (under a mentor, of course). I have learned alot from her, and I've learned that many Cavs are prone to an enormous variety of health problems. Knee, eyes, cancer or tumor (forgot which one) problems are extremely common. So are heart problems. Which is why buying from a reputable breeder is so important. Never buy from a pet store or byb or pup mill (like wizardofclaws). Health testing is of the utmost importance, and that's all I can think of...

If you would like to see a CKC Spanial take a look at Seti - he is a ruby and you will find him under Varney in the members photos area. Best of luck with your CKC when you get one. They are a great breed and make wonderful pets.
