Best Potty Pads for Adult Toys
I'm don't think I'll be letting Latte go out unless I'm going for a stroll so I think he'll be using the pads for the rest of his days if I don't try the litterbox idea.
For those in the same situation, what brand of pads have you found to be the best for absorbency and minimizing odor and/or most economical? (This is a new thread because I didn't want to mess up the litterbox topic.) |

As far as economical goes...I have a friend that uses newspaper. She gets the paper delivered everyday so she stockpiles them. One daily newspaper allows for several changes through out the day. She hoses out the litter box every night. I have seen a reusable pad that goes in the washer. I don't know about that though. I would never wash it with my clothes so it would cost a lot of money in washings and you would need several so one could be drying while the other is washing. I have never met anyone who tried that kind so I don't know how well it works. You could be the first of us to try this system http://www.catsplay.com/rfwiz.php3 and tell us how it works!
I have thought about it before but I don't know if I would just confuse my dogs with such a drastic change. |

Looks as though you will still need to buy pads, otherwise your going to have to wash out poo and pee off of that thing. I'll stick to just the pads since I've never had a problem with them and they are much easier to travel with.

Yeah, I can see that. I guess putting newspaper at the bottom would be OK though. You still need to wash off the top. Oh well, one more gadget...
The pads are nice for travel. I like impressing people by putting one down and having Latte pee on command. ![]() |

I went to a hospital and bought the pads that go on beds, they are like two feet by three feet, machine washable, I buy their ol ones for $1.50 each, this works great as I just put them in the washing machine everyday, no mess or fuss. Hope this helps

I buy from the hospital, their bed pads, I wash them everyday by their self, just put bleach in the water, have been using them for years, have all my friends hooked on them, it is really great, I get them for $1.50 each, I buy them 15 at a time, they last forever, when ever I sell a pup I always include a couple with them, they always call and ask where they can get more

We use litter. My first Chi used newspaper. I found a litterbox deodorizer for cat litter that you sprinkle and it really works well. I just love the fact that dogs can go without having to hold it until someone gets home, or on a rotten weather day they don't have to get out in that to go. I like the litter box with paper/pads in it since it is easier to clean and gives a boundary. Those pads are not waterproof and pee leaks through. I never stop praise. Every time I see a potty break I praise it.
