How Many Tags?

(I know -- a dumb thread.)

How many tags to you allow your toy to sport? I'd do a poll but I didn't see that option here. I have a bunch for Latte but only use 3 of these:
1. Rabies
2. ID
3. Microchip #1
(125 kHz technology)
4. Microchip #2
(134.2 kHz /ISOtechnology)
5. City License (I don't have this one since I don't live in the city limits but still.)

Our toys are so tiny and there are too many tags. How many do you put on your little one's collar or harness.

I only have a address tag and the rabies tag on the pups collars. The license tags stay in my desk drawer. We have all the animals license number written down in our wallets incase we are asked for them at the park.

None. Harley used to have a tag with our phone number on it, but then we moved state and never got his tag updated. We don't let them off leash too often. Both Harley and Abby are microchipped and registered with the council, though.

When mandi has her collar on, she has an id tag, microchip tag, and rabies tag. I like to keep it off of her though, because the metal on the tags turns her hair a gray color when it rubs on her.

Gizmo's address tag is on his harness, so it's only on him when we're outside.

As for his collar, it's just his rabies tag and the guardian angel charm with his name engraved on it that was a secret santa gift from Calgal. I keep meaning to talk to my vet about getting him microchipped, thanks for reminding me!

Missie's harness that she wears any time we're on a walk or out and about has her ID tag (though she needs a new one it's so scratched!) and city licensing tag. Her collar that I try to make her wear more often in case she gets out of the house or lost has an ID tube (it has every number I can be reached at instead of just my home phone) and a little charm that says "spoiled" on it. I bought it for her in Niagara Falls, and it was my favorite thing I bought. lol

Jesse has is id tag and nothing more. I am, however, going to add a tag that informs people he's ill (ie: needs meds) though. Just in case he ever (gods forbid) goes missing again...at least whom ever finds him will know not to keep him.

Cass.

Great idea, Cass. I might engrave on his current tag something like that one of Latte's tags. Some people are evil and won't even try to reunite a lost dog.

All three of my dogs collars have two tags one is a tag with their name and phone number and the other is their updated rabies tag with my vet's phone number on it Zoe's tag is more special because it cost 30 dollars and was specially made one side says spoiled rotten mutt and the other has her name and my phone number. Their collars stay on 24/7 because If they get lost I want them to get found. I'm going to get maggie and zoe microchipped Gracie is already microchipped since she was adopted from the animal shelter. I love the little jingles that their tags make as they run around.

My boy has rabies/city/microchip tags plus a little heart charm. I like the little jingle his tags make too. Also alert me to where he is in the house/outside and if he's getting into mischief!

License tags only.

The rabies tag and license dates correspond, you cannot get the license without a current rabies tag, therefore, the rabies tag does not need to be worn in our area.

I'm thinking of having some made up with my phone number on it.

In my opinion it is better to have one with your number on it. People are more likely to call the owner from a tag with the owners number on it than a registry and read off the license number to an operator and then get the owners number and then call them.

That's a great idea, poor Jesse. When we move next year, I'm planning on putting "NEEDS MEDS" at the top of the tag in place of their names. None of them need medication, but I think it'll decrease the chances of someone keeping them.
