I was a bit anal about cleaning house and kids 25 years ago and couldnt have coped with a large dog and mud etc I was also allergic to a lot of things at the time and went out for a poodle but couldnt find any and ended up getting a chihuahua, i havent looked back since, i hope i will always have chihuahuas.

Toys tend to live a LONG time but it depends on the breed. It is not unusual for a toy to live up to 20 years.
