My very favorite grown up answer!

Glad we all took the time to tell you what to look for in an ethical breeder so that you could get the healthiest puppy possible. Sorry if it wasn't the "I want it now" answer you wanted.

Unfortunately I think that is exactly what happened. And who will suffer... the dog.

How was anyone wrong? The point was not to get a puppy from an irresponsible breeder..and for some reason I am guessing you did. Nobody said the puppy would die

Genetic problems mostly don't show up until the pup is around 2yrs old or older. Which is why most people, ignorant of the downside of backyard breeders and puppymills, often don't associate the health problems their dogs have with the breeder.

I agree, all of the advice that you were given was very good, sound advice. It is VERY important to locate a good, ethical breeder when buying a new puppy. The puppy may seem fine, now.... but that doesn't mean that problems won't pop up in the future. As stated above, many times genetic health conditions don't show up until the dog is older. I don't know where you got the puppy or if the breeder was good or bad, but all everyone was trying to tell you was to do your research before rushing out to buy the first puppy that you come across. Research and taking the time to find the right breeder is very important when looking for a new puppy, and that's all everyone was trying to tell you....

I hope that everything works out well with your new puppy! Best of luck!
