strange breeder requirements

Hi all,
I am on a quest with my cousin to find a bichon puppy from a reputable breeder for her. This will be her first puppy. She works out of the home, likea lot of us. She talked to a "well known" breeder relatively close to her. The breeder said that she does not sell puppies to people who work regular jobs...outside of the home! She was also quite unhelpful when my cousin asked her of names of other breeders she knew of. This sounded strange to me. Are all/most bichon breeders like this? As a cavalier owner, I also had a hard time finding a breeder who would give me any time to talk with them.

There are some breeders that prefer not to place their pets with someone who works outside of the home and their reason being that they don't want their little ones alone for a lengthy period of time.

Try checking with The Bichon Frise Club of America and look through their breeders directory.

Here's their website. http://www.bichon.org/ They have about a million links and facts. They also have an extensive rescue!

I hope this helps!

Go to the AKC web page and find Bichon breeders in the State you live in. Write to all of them and ask if they have any puppies available. Try and get one from someone who shows these dogs.

Some show breeders will only sell to those who will show their dogs.
