That's how they always greet each other.. It looks like they're hugging but if you take away the sentimentalism of it all it's probably just another gesture of dominance by two unneutered males.

That was when they were much younger, (see how short Ripley's coat was?!) and they probably were just playing..

Yes, I have, along with my Lab and Doberman a mocha girl Chihuahua, 4yrs. old and a blue male, (Chi mix) Jose, 2 yrs old. Love 'em to death. Great personalities....real hams. They're such a great breed. They seem to match whatever mood I'm in. If I want to play, they play. If I want to stop and sit on the couch, they hop up with me and are just as happy as can be to sit on my lap quietly. They're not hyper and they're soooo attentive. Great dogs.

Speaking of your chis, Carrie, do you have any pictures of them? They sound so sweet..

I read somewhere that long haired chihuahuas have some Papillon-like breeds in them.. Personally I prefer the short coated ones, I prefer short little hairs to big long ones. (Figures that I have a dog with 6-inch long hair. )

Yes, I have pictures....just haven't gotten around to figuring out how to reduce the size of them. I know I'll have to get into picture it and study that out and I just am lazy to go deal with it. But when I do, I'll put some up. Or if you can think of an easy fix, I could email them to you and maybe you know how to do it. ??? Anyhow, that picture of Ripley playing with the chi is adorable. Yup...that's rough and tumble play if I ever saw it. Cute. I love watching my two play. One, the mix is so much bigger than the other. But they're characters.

I wish I was quicker with my camera. A few times here and there, I see Chuli, my 5 Lb Chi lying inbetween my Doberman's front legs and he's mouthing her and she's on her back pawing and play biting him in the face. He gently nudges her with his nose. He opens his mouth right around her whole head but keeps his mouth open and barely moves. He knows he must be careful. He's such a good, sweet boy. His little stubby tail wiggles back and forth. He's finally, for the most part figured out that he has to be gentle. Sometimes he needs a reminder, but over all, he's being careful. It would have made a cute picture. But of course, everytime I reach for the camera, they stop doing it.

Southern Girl,

Your Chihuahua is adorable. How much does she weigh? She looks tinier than my moose of a girl. You could break your back lifting my moose of a boy.

No, 15 LBS is way, way too large for a Chihuahua. He's mixed with something else...(moose) 6 LBS is the maximum that they should weigh according to the standard. LOL.
But that little boy of mine, Jose has sooooo much character. He's smart as a whip and full of pizzaz.

Your girl is hyper? That's funny. Mine aren't. They're all such individuals. But your girl has the sweetest, prettiest little face. Such a doll!

LoL, I know.. Ripley has this crazy dog bark.. I got a microphone hooked up to my computer, I'll record him the next time he starts barking at something... I don't think any dog bark could be as obnoxious as Ripley's.

I don't have any chis southern girl, but my next door neighbors have 3! One of the males always comes over and plays with Jinx, hes all fawn colored, really soft coat. I have a picture of them together, it's probably kind of big,

not a very good picture, but you can still get a good idea of what he looks like. He's a very sweet dog, hardly ever barks, and he jumps up in my lap, so cute.
