Talking Is there any other Boerboel owners out there in Canada?

Hi everyone,

I posted this question on the intro board, but unfortunately no one had answered. I was hoping to see that there was maybe even just one other Boerboel owner in Canada!
We have had rotti's for some time, and because of the bad reputation of the rotti, we decided to search for another breed. One that has similar characteristics but without all the stereo typing that goes along with it. We happened to stumble across the South African Boerboel and started our questions from there. I must say, even though my heart still melts when I see a nice looking rott, I don't think I could ever go back or go to another similar breed. I have been able to find everything I was looking for in a guardian style breed and more within the boerboel.

Very handsome and strong looking dog. I asked about them in another thread of yours, but since have looked them up. I found this site....for anyone who is interested: http://www.dogbreedinfo.com/boerboel.htm

Anyhow....they sound like a very imposing dog and you must be a very good and wise dog handler to raise them well. I look forward to hearing more about yours and seeing some more pictures. Welcome to the forums, by the way!

Boerboel owners in Canada

Hey guys, I am going to attach a couple of photos, of some of our B.B.'s. As far as being hard to handle,..... I don't see it that way, but we have always had extremely high drive large to giant breed dogs, in our household. Our kids have grown up with them as well!
As far as the boerboel's are concerned, we have put been to competitions for obedience, schutzhund, herding, and conformation shows and they are all absolutely wonderful people dogs. They have been tempermant tested for their willingness to protect, as well as their ableness to be an all around good dog! So far we have on one of our females the following titles; C.G.C., OB.1, B.S.T., H.I.C. and another of our females has; Jr.Champion C.G.C.,Rally-O1.
We have just been so impressed by these dogs, and their confidence levels and overall attitude.
I think I'm smitten.
Thanks for all the compliments, I will pass them along to the b.b.'s !!!
