Noisy Husky
Don't you just love how verbal Husky's are. I love when Lucky ro-ro's at me and others. It's funny though cause it seem like a lot of people don't realize he is just talking and saying hi. They think he is growling at them and they get scared. I just laugh inside

lol I love it! Gabby HAS to be part Husky because she talks like one. She also scares people sometimes. When I first met her I was like "what is wrong with this dog" she was doing it ALL the time. Now she only does it when she is exited.

I haven't actually heard a Husky 'talk' in real life before, but Harley makes all sorts of weird noises, like he's trying so hard to talk!
He also howls - which is always a very drawn out howl. It sounds very haunting.. |

LOL I know what you mean! Our neighbor's old Alasken Malamute, Loupie, would talk all of the time. I loved it and since Rose was raised around Loupie, Rose does it too.
People were terrified of Loupie because of her imposing size, look, and "arooooo". Which I found funny because she was a big fluffy teddy bear that wouldn't dream of ever biting a person - maybe just licking them to death. Blackie also does this weird grunt/sigh thing when he is really comfortable and he did it laying in the vet's office one day because of the cool floor. The vettech was about ready to poke him with a needle and she thought he was growling at her. We told her that he wasn't, he just really liked the floor! Something else that is really neat is that both Blackie and Rose have a "siren" howl that they do. When they hear a siren, they both start with this slow, droning howl with Blackie leading it. Then at the same time they switch into loud deap bays from Blackie and on his offbeat Rose does these so high pitched you can barely hear them yips. The overall effect is amazing and I actually love listening to them. I'll have to get it on camera sometime. |

We have trains that run through town and man oh man when my kids hear that whistle blow it's on!. They try to out howl each other. One will start then the others join in. Next is gets louder and then higher pitched. Sometimes they set off all the surrounding neighborhood dogs. I love it.

I love the husky talk, too!
My whole crew actually gets into a frenzy when someone comes home. It starts off with the chihuahua's barking, and then Sheiba starts her roo roo and then Kelso tries to howl. I want to get it on video sometime. It is the funniest thing because even Chong tries to do it sometimes. lol But we have to run in the house quick to get them to stop, cause I don't think the neighbors would appreciate hearing it for very long. lol |

We don't know what Indy is, but the vet thinks probably some husky because she talks up a storm. She gets so insistent about it too, like "why aren't you listening to me!?!" when she wants something. She is also very verbal in dog play with lots of play growls, barks, etc. and I find that many people (even in our puppy class) don't understand that dogs make fight-y noises often when they play, so they pull their dogs away and get all tensed up, which then makes her more insistent and anxious. Urgh. But, back to the noises, it sure is cute when they look at you and just yap away.
