Working Group Dogs in the Working Group were developed to perform a wide variety of tasks, such as herding, carting, and guarding. These dogs are large, intelligent, and protective of their owners.

Aunt obviously not a dog person
Today I had a short visit from my Aunt who lives in Tennessee. You can obviously tell she has no clue about dogs whatsoever. She walked in and Kota is of course checking out the new person as she always does. She replies "Oh thats a pretty Afgan!" I say nope, that's a pretty collie.

When she left she still swore she looked like an afgan.


This is a pretty Afgan, but looks NOTHING like my beautiful Kota.

I'm starting to think that dog breeds are like vocabulary words. People just really dont know whats what, so using the "biggest" or "rarest" word they know makes them feel better!

I just think it was the long hair that made her think of it. Of course Afgan hair is longer.

Kota is gorgeous! I love those slim heads on any dog. Don't worry about it, though. I was often *told* my Greyhound was a Borzoi, Saluki, Afghan Hound, and a Whippet. Just because you say it, doesn't make it so!

Thanks Greenleaf. I always loved the greyhounds too but I don't believe they'd be a breed right for me.

Your Kota is just georgous by the way, now I guess you can understand how I feel when someone calls my shelite a minature collie or a toy collie. No, sorry, she's a sheltie thank you, and they still insist on calling her a toy collie!

lol. I'm always correcting people on that too. Matter of fact I did just last week when someone commmented that they wanted a toy collie

Of course I had to explain nope. That's a sheltie, and if you don't know that you need to research before you buy. She just looked at me funny and snickered.

One more person asked me two days ago about my "Pit Bull" - Bitty, who is a 15-pound Boston Terrier, almost full grown!

BTW, I know you keep hearing it over and over (but I'm sure you don't get tired of it, lol), but Kota is really beautiful.
